And now we are 7

Okay, so many of you may remember "Rascal", Emma's cat. If you don't, let me give you a brief history. Even though Cam and I ARE NOT cat people, we got Emma a cat for Christmas '05. Beautiful playful kitten...mean, mean, mean adult cat. Even Emma, the animal lover, wasn't crazy about him. She would always say, "I love my cat, but I sure do wish he was a nice cat". One day I asked Emma if she would like to find Rascal a home where he might be better understood and then we could adopt an older nicer cat from the Humane Society. She smiled and said...could we do that?!? So, we found Rascal a good home. That was about 9 months ago, and about once a week Emma would reference the "new cat" she was going to get. Cam and I were procrastinating because not only do I not love cats, but I HATE cat litter. Then, a wonderful thing happened...Emma said, "you know, I think I want a dog instead of a new cat"...HHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Our original plan was to get a dog from the Humane Society, but we were discouraged to find out that they hardly ever get small dogs and when they do they are usually need to go to homes with children older than 10. Since we didn't want another big dog, we decided to get a puppy. We researched breeds, and decided to get a Rat Terrier (bad name, but so cute). So....now we are 7. We brought Punkin' Roobyroo (like ScoobyDoo) home Friday night. She is doing great so far, and everyone is enjoying having her around...even Aiden. Here are a few pics, for some reason I didn't get any of Katelynne with her, but she has been giving her lots of love too :) "Um, what is down there???"
"Who is licking my toes???"
Watching Aiden
"Hey, get back in that box"

"Stay in the box"

Face off
"Watch out...I'll lick ya"

Thursday Night

I gave Aiden yogurt with cheerios last night and I am not sure who had more fun, him or me. I was laughing so hard and though many did make it to his mouth, what we loved most was squishing the yogurt in his chubby little hands. By the end he had yogurt and cheerios stuck everywhere. The next stop was the sink for a tubby....what fun :) This was a first for us, so I accidently put a little to much water in the sink and Tates had a fabulous time spashing in it....water all over the kitchen and mommy. The night ended with a naked baby in a mohawk playing with his animals. I love my life!

Visit to Woodland

Grammy, Aiden and I went out to Woodland yesterday to have lunch with Nana and Papa. We dined at the Oak Tree, then went back to their house to visit for a while. Auntie Karen also stopped by to say hello. As usual, instead of much chatting we all took turns playing with and holding Aiden. Aiden loved Great Papa and his whistling, and he and Great Nana had a nice long rock in the chair. I loved watching my son spending time with my sweet Nana and Papa.

Nana still has a special touch with her babies :)
